Warmth for 1000 – discounted or free government grants for everyone!
Warmth for 1000 is helping combat fuel poverty by offering insulation and wood fuelled boiler grants to residents to help make their homes more energy efficient, creating comfortable living environments and reducing heating bills.
Many of the grants are available to all, regardless of income. But you must be a homeowner or private tenant with repairing obligations as detailed in your tenancy agreement. Tenants must obtain landlord’s permission before applying. Housing Association tenants are not eligible to apply.
If you are a low income household or in receipt of a qualifying benefit you may be entitled to a grant for up to 100% of the cost, subject to qualifying criteria and available funding. Loft or wall insulation or wood fuelled boilers may be discounted or free if anyone in your privately owned or privately rented household meets one or more of these qualifying criteria:
- Aged 70 or over (applies to cavity wall and loft insulation only)
- Receiving Council Tax Benefit
- Receiving Guaranteed Pension Credit
- Receiving Income Support
- Receiving Housing Benefit
- Receiving Working Tax Credit, with gross annual income less than £15,050
- Receiving Child Tax Credit, with gross annual income less than £15,050
Even if you do not meet these criteria, you may still be eligible for a discount of 50%.
If you feel you are eligible for an insulation grant, would like to reduce your heating bills, or would like further information call freephone 0800 980 0902 or apply online.
